I attended European Photographers Awards Gala ceremony on Sunday 2nd of April 2017 in Palaco della Cultura Platamone in wonderful city of Catania. It was so strong and emotional experience for me.
The gala evening started with QEP and Master QEP certificates, where I officially received the QEP certificate. Ceremony continued with Students awards and the Book Awards.
European Photographer of the Year awards started with awarding finalist in all FEP competition categories. The quality and the creativity of all finalists presented work was very high and this is why it was a big honor to everyone who was awarded as a finalist (first 10 authors) in each category.
I can say from my point of view that the ceremony was perfectly organized and full of strong and positive emotions.
I am so grateful for awarding my work, it is a huge recognition for me.
My winning pictures were:
Peter Svoboda - National Award winner 2017 (1st place and the 3-rd place winner at National Award in Sony World Photography Awards 2017).
I am so thrilled and honored to announce that my image "Light from above" was selected as a National Award winning image in this year's Sony World Photography Awards. It is a great honor for me especially as I was also chosen an award winner in last year's WPA. I won also the 3rd place with my picture "Alley" in tha Nat. Awards as well.
You can see all those stunning National Award 2017 images here: https://www.worldphoto.org/…/w…/2017/national-awards/winners
I named the series Emotions of Heights. I am always trying to solve why a man is taking so much effort and even risking the life just to get on the summit of high mountain. Maybe people love if things don't come easy and rush of adrenaline is taking them back to the roots. I mean somewhere far when our DNA was creating. Maybe.. but I found actually some strong emotion of beeing in high altitudes, an emotion which I am addicted in, some kind of excitation and euphoria. Love this diagnosis :)
Hope you'll enjoy
